Homemade Old-Fashion Buttermilk
Do you know how old-fashioned buttermilk is made?
You will need a starter - if you don't have a friend or family member who has raw buttermilk already started you can start with store bought buttermilk and go on from there.
Take about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cultured buttermilk
1 to 2 quarts raw full fat milk
1 clean dry 1/2 gallon jar
Pour already started buttermilk into a clean dry jar, add in the full fat milk. Tightly screw on lid, shake for one minute. Place jar in a dry warm (not hot) area out of the sun for 12 to 24 hours, until thick.
Place in the refrigerate when thick. Use within 12 days.
